A World of Duplicate Content: Using a Filter

The World Wide Web is like a race or marathon, with websites competing to be the first to reach the finish line. In this case the meta will be ranked higher. In this race for dominance, it’s important to avoid duplicate content and the penalties that come with it.
To facilitate the efficient functioning of catalogs, we have equipped search engines with content filters. This removes or filters duplicate content from indexed pages. And the harshest punishment is inferiority in the overall standings.

Unfortunately, these filters not only detect scammers, but also real websites. Webmasters need to understand how filters work and what actions to take to avoid being filtered. When a search engine sends bots, the filters ignore or eliminate the following:

• Websites with identical content. And when a webmaster places multiple copies or versions of pages on a website to deceive search engines. Filters are also extremely sensitive to “transitional” pages.• Contents obscured by different packaging. This duplication of pages with little or no significant changes, called “discarded content,” falls victim to filters.

• Product descriptions on e-commerce websites. Most e-commerce websites publish a product description from the manufacturer alongside the product, and this content then appears on millions of e-commerce websites that are victims of the filters.

• Articles widely circulated on the Internet. While some engines are programmed to find an object’s origin, others may not be able to determine it.

• Pages that are not duplicates but contain the same basic material written by different people.
